Cosmetic Dermatology

Together we can formulate and implement a plan towards a better looking you. With the artistic eye and technical skills of our physician, beautiful skin is within reach. The following treatments may be used alone or in combination to attain our goal.

BOTOX® Cosmetic
BOTOX®Cosmetic is a purified protein initially designed to relax the treated muscle. BOTOX®Cosmetic may be used to soften the lines on the face especially the frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet. Innovative uses include elevation of the brows, softening the lines under the eyes as well as opening the eyes, elevation of the nasal tip, lip augmentation, elevation of the corners of the mouth and softening the chin. BOTOX®Cosmetic is also FDA approved for the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Only our physician administers BOTOX®Cosmetic.

Restylane® and Perlane®
Restylane® and Perlane® are made of hyaluronic acid, a filler, designed to correct wrinkles, augment the lips and contour the face such as the jowls, chin and cheek. Innovative uses include brow elevation and facial lift (VolumaLift™).

Radiesse™
Radiesse™ is a filler primarily composed of calcium hydoxylapatite and may last longer than most fillers. It is FDA approved for oral/maxillofacial defects. Innovative uses include facial shaping and contouring.

Cosmoderm®
Cosmoderm® is filler composed of human collagen. It supplants the older form of collagen, a bovine collagen, and requires no skin testing. Used like the other fillers, Cosmoderm® is an excellent filler used to line the lips and correct fine lines around the mouth and eyes.

Laser Treatment
Lasers are used to correct wrinkles, broken blood vessels, discoloration and excess hair. State of the art technology and topical anesthesia, if necessary, makes your treatment comfortable as well as effective. We use the Elos® system, a technology that combines light and radiofrequency.

Cellulite Treatment
Velasmooth® is FDA approved for the treatment of cellulite. Along with a good diet and exercise regimen, Velasmooth® treatments may offers effective cellulite management. Treated areas include buttocks, thighs, abdomen and arms. Treatment requires a series of treatments performed twice weekly.

Blu-U® Acne Therapy
Blu-U® employs light to treat acne with no downtime. A client is exposed to this special light source for a specific amount of time. A series of treatment given twice weekly ensures effective management of acne. When used in addition to Levulan®, the therapy is even more effective.

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)
Levulan®, aminolevulinic acid, is FDA approved to treat precancerous lesions on the face. Innovative uses include acne therapy (with Blu-U® light) and rejuvenation of the skin (with Photo facial lasers). The use of Levulan® decreases bacteria count on the face and reduces the size of the sebaceous glands. When used in conjunction with photo facial therapy, it makes the treatment more effective and therefore requiring less treatment sessions. It improves wrinkles, texture, pore size, color and oilness of the skin.
Levulan® is applied to the face and left in place for 30 to 60 minutes prior to exposure to a light source. There is very little downtime for this treatment, patients undergoing this therapy compare it to a sunburn.

Chemical Peels
Chemical peels remain an integral procedure in our efforts to correct or rejuvenate the skin. It is a safe procedure and may have minimal downtime depending on the chemical used.

Obagi® Blue Peel – This is a trichloroacetic acid based peel used to rejuvenate the skin. The technology allows us to use the peel under the eyes and neck.

Vitalize Peel – A combination of chemicals designed to provide a safe and effective peel. Vitalize peel is particularly effective in managing patients with acne and aged skin.

PCA Peels – Physician’s Choice of Arizona has an array of peels offered to physicians. We use a number of their peels, Ultra Peel, Sensi Peel, Pumpkin Peel and PCA Peel. All of these peels are designed for a specific need including a dehydrated skin, mature skin, fine lines, sensitive skin, uneven skin color and ethnic skin.

Glycolic Peel – It remains an excellent treatment resulting in a youthful glow to the skin.

Spider Vein Treatment
Sclerotherapy remains the gold standard in treating spider veins. The procedure entails injecting a solution to the vein to irritate the lining of the vessel causing it to stick together. This therapy in conjunction with compression stocking use remains the treatment of choice for spider veins. For those patients resistant to therapy, laser treatments may be a great option for them.

Contour ThreadLift™
Absorbable threads are used to lift the face with minimal downtime. It is performed under local anesthesia. Contour ThreadLift™ is designed to correct minimal drooping of the face. It does not replace traditional surgical face-lift. However, for patients who do not want general anesthesia or are not ready to commit to surgery, Contour ThreadLift™ is a viable alternative.

Microdermabrasion
We have a particle free microdermabrasion machine to treat sun-damaged skin, age spots, acne and acne scarring, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and oily skin. Because we do not use crystals, the treatment is less problematic especially when treating areas around the eyes.
